I've had a flare-up of my love for stripes lately.
There have been a few cotton sheets and pillowcases in the opshops recently and I've been very attracted to them. I think stripes should be used for all occasions, not just pyjamas and the sheets are perfect for summer.

| Big Butt Stripey Pants |
The Big Butt pants pictured are made from Made by Rae's Big Butt Baby Pants pattern which is available on her blog for $10us. It is worth every cent! The pattern is designed to accommodate the extra bulk that comes from a cloth nappy and as you can see has the cutest rear gusset! I made the 12-18 month size initially, but it was way too small for Addie. So those pants [made from a pillowcase] went to some friends of hers that are more dainty for their age. Addie got another stripy pair from a sheet I had [in size 2], and I love them on her. She has heaps of room to move and I just love the look. I've made her some more from a different fabric too.

you are so clever Tab.
ReplyDeleteThats very kind Zara. I feel like its less a matter of clever, as being able to follow instructions? I do have a lot of fun with it though - in between the times that I'm yelling at the machine, the pattern and anything else that goes wrong, lol.
ReplyDeleteOo love the yellow and the blue and green stripe fabric better than the rainbow. Happy for the nappy accomodation. Pants that fit well are great to have. I think you should make a couple of little ones for the newbie. She's gotta look cute too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kel. I won't make our new girl any pants until I"ve made her enough nappies! Those are probably more important :)
ReplyDeleteAye. They are. No point making cool pants and have soil right through them coz she ain't wearing a nappy!
ReplyDeleteYou are the Queen of re-purposing oh and Eeewww to the previous comment :-)
